We have recently added Extra Large Sizes to our Ergo 21 Coccyx Seat Cushion and Sports Cushion.
Customer response has been good. We sold out our first batch in 5 weeks.

I have a sciatic nerve problem the nerve feels like I’m sitting on a 1″ pole down my butt and back of my leg it is very uncomfortable and painful, I have had this problem for 5 years it has made me leave my chairs and take to bed so I can lay on my side for relief. This Ergo 21 Extra Large Seat Cushion has made all the difference in the world for me, at first use I wasn’t sure about it but the longer I have sit on it the more comfortable it has become and I haven’t had any pain at all sitting, I am a large person so I bought the largest size and it fits my entire office chair perfectly. I have used other cushions and they just gave a little relief but this cushion is amazing.
The only negative is it cost too much.

It is very touching to hear that now you can sit comfortably after 5 years of discomfort.
After careful research and numerous calls and reading reviews and feedback we took the plunge and got a limited quantity of Extra Large Coccyx and Sports Cushions made. The response has been over whelming. We sold out of our first batch in 5 weeks with not a single one being returned 🙂

We made it 2 inches wider and one inch longer and increased the height to 2. Inches. This size is ideal for anyone who is tall and large or weighs 200 lbs. plus.

We have found that even individuals who are just 130 pounds, but who have serious medical issues can now sit in comfort for long periods with this Extra Large Design. Just make sure that the chair dimensions can accommodate the size.

We did not lower the quality of the High Resilience Foam that we use in all our cushions. Of-course the cost went up. We had to get new machines to stitch a bigger size and had to look for a different fabric that is easier to stitch around the bend. New molds had to be made for the foam as well. By the way the foam also is made for us by a foundry here in Los Angeles. We tried to source the foam from two different countries but they could not provide us with the exact specs that we were looking for.
If you close your eyes and feel the foam, you will notice that it does not sink after a couple of hours of sitting and at the same time it does not feel hard that it is digging into your sitting bones. This quality and feeling will remain the same after years of use!

The Special fabric that we chose for this Extra Large Size is High quality durable Teslan Poly/Cotton with a waterproof backing. This can be easily cleaned with a wet soapy rag and water if needed. I have yet to see a fabric of this quality on a cushion. We do market research periodically of other cushions and the materials they use. Our goal is to have a quality product that will provide relief and comfort that you are looking for, not for a short time but for many years to come.

The LiquiCell membranes that we use keep the blood flow under the tail bone and thighs. This is better than just Gel Seat Cushions or Foam Cushions. LiquiCell neutralizes vertical pressure on the point of contact and keeps you from shifting to one side. When you even shift let’s say just half an inch, you misalign the spine and this causes neck, lower back, hip, buttock and thigh pain. We have a video on our site that explains this.

I forgot one important point in my comment above.

This is a phenomenon many of our users have experienced. When you first sit on our cushions, your tail bone and sitting bones have skin breakdown and pressure sore from years of vertical pressure. When you start sitting on the LiquiCell Membranes, these areas slowly begin to return back to normal.

I had a Gentleman tell me when I called him to ask about how is the cushion working out for him. He told me – It’s just OK. He does not feel any different than any of the many cushions he had tried over the last 12 years.
But, he called me ten days later to say that when he went to his doctor two weeks later, he found out that his Pressure sores on his bottom were almost gone and that now he can sit for 12 hours at a time on our cushion 🙂
That’s why hospitals use the LiquiCell membranes in bed for burn and stroke victims who cannot move to keep the sores and pressure ulcers in check.
There are even recliners that use this technology for Kidney Dialysis and Chemo patients to prevent numbness and buttock and leg pain from long hours of sitting for treatment.
